Reliability
Leased-line reliability is finally available at regular broadband prices
Bonded Internet gives you assurance that your Internet connection will be available when you need it, at a price you can afford.
No dropped sessions
Bonded Internet detects a failed connection almost instantly- within 0.3 seconds- and removes it from the bond. Your VoIP calls don’t drop, your SaaS office sessions aren’t interrupted, your backups stay current. The only change is a reduction in bandwidth equal to the speed of the failed connection. Since you can use lines from two or more ISPs, you can even eliminate the possibility of downtime caused by an ISP-wide outage. This allows a Bonded Internet connection to match and even exceed the reliability of a traditional leased line.
When a connection is restored, it is added back to the bond within 0.1 seconds.
The following short video demonstrates transparent failover in Bonded Internet.
Completely transparent failover
Unlike load balancing services, a line failure doesn’t cause any outbound or inbound sessions to drop. It doesn’t trigger any DNS changes and has no risk of stale DNS caches causing an ongoing outage for inbound traffic. Your services continue to run from the same static IP address.
Backup for your backups
Bonded Internet also supports a single dedicated failover connection, used only when all the other connections in the bond have failed. This is useful to have, for example, a 3G cellular connection as a backup but to avoid its usage-based charges under normal circumstances.
Rugged hardware
Don’t worry about your bonding appliance hardware, either. It’s a business-class device based on widely-deployed, well-tested components. And although it’s powerful, it has very few moving parts at risk of failing.
